In November I decided that was sick of not feel good and there was no medicine out there that was going to help. My back was killing me, my stomach was totally out of control, melting down after almost every meal and I was overweight. I was tired and bloated all the time - which lead to me being crabby. It was time to find a doctor to help my back feel better so I could feel comfortable exercising (chiropractor I figured) and I thought I needed someone to do some allergy testing. My Mom has celiac disease and I feared I had it, or at least I was having reactions to foods, causing the bloating and stomach meltdowns.
I remembered a doctor that came and talked to a class I was part of at the gym 2 years ago. He was from ABC Wellness & Rehab, and seemed to be everything I was looking for all in one stop, he offered services in chiropractic, nutrition, allegery testing and even acupuncture (which I was very open to). He was not about prescribing a pill and sending me on my way - something that had not helped in the past. I set up an appointment so I could start a treatment plan with my new holistic doctor. He did an initial exam that took over an hour. He asked me lots of questions, did some resistance testing and used a machine to test the energy output of the muscles along my spine. After reviewing all the data on me he collected he started by adjusting my spine and neck and added physical therapy. After just a week (3 appts.) my back was improving and to my surprise even my stomach was calming down. The dr. explained to me that opening up the nerve paths so that organs could get what they need was another benefit to being adjusted (not just the surface aches going away). Next I kept a food journal for one week, I waited until after all the holidays were over so that it was a good picture of the choices I made. After the dr. reviewed my food log and did some more resistance testing he put together some information on better food choices and reviewed with me his diagnosis - that I have chronic candidiasis (a yeast build up). He provided me with some great resources to learn more about this condition and suggested some supplements. I have been taking 3 supplements 3 times a day and have been feeling great. I can tell that the bloating has gone down, I have had fewer meltdowns and do not feel that all over blah that I had been struggling with.
I have been watching what I eat a bit more now and have really started to cut back on snacking. I am making better choices for breakfast and lunch, and I am working on dinners. My next step is to add exercise to my week. I feel like I am ready to take on losing weight by exercising since my body overall feels better. That is where I wanted to be, and while it is an ongoing process, I feel like I took the best steps for me so that I can feel healthy!

I wish this Dr was closer to me. I would love to do that as well!
